Amazon DynamoDB

The Amazon DynamoDB integration allows you to monitor your Amazon DynamoDB service through Panopta.

To add the Amazon DynamoDB service to your Panopta account:

  1. Follow the instructions provided in Connecting Panopta and CloudWatch.

  2. Under Services, select DynamoDB.

The following table describes the metrics supported by Panopta for DynamoDB.

Count

The number of failed attempts to perform conditional operations.

Consumed Read Capacity Units

Count

The number of read capacity units consumed over a specified amount of time.

Consumed Write Capacity Units

Count

The number of write capacity units consumed over a specified amount of time.

Online Index Consumed Write Capacity

Count

The number of write capacity units consumed when adding a new global secondary index to a table.

Online Index Percentage Progress

Count

The progress in percent of a new global secondary index that is being added to a table.

Online Index Throttle Events

Count

The number of write throttle events that occur when adding a new global secondary index to a table.

Provisioned Read Capacity Units

Count

The number of provisioned read capacity units for a table or a global secondary index.

Provisioned Write Capacity Units

Count

The number of provisioned write capacity units for a table or a global secondary index.

Read Throttle Events

Count

Requests to DynamoDB that exceed the provisioned read capacity units for a table or a global secondary index.

Returned Bytes

Bytes

The number of bytes returned by GetRecords operations during the specified amount of time.

Returned Item Count

Count

The number of items returned by Query or Scan operations during the specified amount of time.

The number of stream records returned by GetRecords operations during the specified amount of time.

Successful Request Latency

Milliseconds

Successful requests to DynamoDB or Amazon DynamoDB Streams during the specified amount of time.

System Errors

Count

Requests to DynamoDB or Amazon DynamoDB Streams that generate an HTTP 500 status code during the specified amount of time.

Time To Live Deleted Item Count

Count

The number of items deleted by Time to live (TTL) during the specified amount of time.

Throttled Requests

Count

Requests to DynamoDB that exceed the provisioned throughput limits on a resource.

User Errors

Count

Requests to DynamoDB or Amazon DynamoDB Streams that generate an HTTP 400 status code during the specified amount of time.

Write Throttle Events

Count

Requests to DynamoDB that exceed the provisioned write capacity units for a table or a global secondary index.
